To round out 2020, Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson squares off with Geoff Neal in this Welterweight bout. Originally Edwards and Chimaev were scheduled to fight, but both tested positive to CO-VID19.
Thompson will return to the Octagon having not fought this year. However in his last fight late in 2019 he won against Vicente Luque to break out of a two-fight losing streak. Prior, he took a loss to former UFC Lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis. Known for his strategic moves, Thompson will look to fight smart and add this bout to his victory belt.
Meanwhile, all eyes will be on rising star, Geoff Neal. Like “Wonderboy”, Neal has not fought since last year, but rides on a five-fight winning streak - no doubt he’ll use this to his advantage.
His last fight in 2019 saw him take on Mike Perry and win via first round technical knockout in just 90 seconds. The underdog is likely to shake things up in the division with his current track record and pose as a serious contender for the title shot.
Will the underdog or Wonderboy round out 2020 with a victory?
For the undercards title contender, Jose Aldo and former featherweight champ Marlon Vera will go toe to toe in the Bantamweight division and look to rattle the pecking order. Also fighting in the co-headline Bantamweight division will be the No.3 ranked Marlon Moraes and Rob Font.
