Hermansson and Vettori will go head-to-head at the last minute, in this upcoming middleweight bout. “The Joker” (aka Hermansson) was recently scheduled to fight Darren Till, and Kevin Holland, but both his opponents had pulled out - Till due to injury, and Holland due to testing positive to CO-VID19.
Hermansson’s track record is strong, taking five victories in his last six fights. Although he lost his four-fight win streak to Jared Cannonier, he wasted no time in his first 2020 appearance in July, which saw him win with first-round submission over Kelvin Gastelum. “The Joker” will no doubt look to continue his momentum and climb higher in the ranks — currently he’s ranked fourth in the division.
Meanwhile, Vettori (aka “The Italian Dream”) steps in on a three-fight winning streak and brandishing a 15-4-1 record overall. Originally he was set to co-headline in UFC 256, but was bumped in at short notice to instead feature in this Fight Night event.
Vettori’s last three wins have been impressive. He defeated Karl Roberson by first round submission, and prior, he won against Andrew Sanchez and Cezar Ferreira by unanimous decision. The underdog is currently ranked no. 13, and looks to extend his streak to get a shot at facing off the divisional king, Israel Adesanya, who he lost to in 2018.
Will Hermansson keep his spot as a top contender, or will Vettori bag the win and earn new found respect in the division?
Ovince Saint Preux, who’s currently ranked no.15, will face off with Jamahal Jill in the co-headlining Lightweight bout. Also one to watch is Montana De La Rosa, (ranked no.15) and Taila Santos who will fight in the Women’s Flyweight bout.
