Will the real heavyweight contender please stand up? This thrilling main event will see Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis battle it out in the Octagon, to move forward and get a shot at the title belt.
Currently ranked #2, Curtis Blaydes, aka “Razor” has proven he’s definitely sharp, bagging four straight victories in his latest outings. His last fight in June saw him defeat Alexander Volkov by unanimous decision. Prior to that, “Razor” showed no mercy and defeated both Junior dos Santos and Shamil Abdurakhimov in the second round.
Not far behind is Derrick Lewis, who’s currently ranked #4. He too is fresh off three consecutive wins, taking down Aleksei Oleinik in his last fight during the second round. Before that he also earned a unanimous decision against Ilir Latifi and a split decision against Blagoy Ivanov.
No doubt these fighters will go hard for the chance to face off with Stipe Miocic or Francis Ngannou for the heavyweight title. Who will it be?
Co-headlining will be Takashi Sato Miguel Baeza in a welterweight bout. The match up will see these two fighters strengthen their UFC careers. Sato has won two of three octagon contests, while Baeza has won all nine of his professional fights. Also in the undercard is Su Mudaerji and Malcolm Gordon, who will go head-to-head in the Flyweight bout.
