A battle between a pair of former light heavyweight title challengers is heading to Sweden, home of Alexander ‘The Mauler’ Gustafsson (18-5-0). The challenger, Anthony ‘Lionheart’ Smith (31-14-0) is coming off a recent loss to Jon Jones in UFC 235 and is looking to regain the form showcased in his earlier bouts.

Gustafsson will be hard to beat at home, and will be hoping to bounce back from his recent loss to Jones also. Sitting at #2 in the Light Heavyweight division, the recent loss was his third attempt at a title challenge. With this Gustafsson has lost confidence it seems, stating if he loses to Anthony Smith, than maybe he just ‘doesn’t have it anymore’.

After competing professionally for almost twelve years, you’d be right to assume we could be seeing what is ultimately the last few bouts from the light heavyweight mainstay.

Smith will gear up for what will be his sixth fight in 15 months, the reason why his grown in the division at such a fast pace. Having made a promise to never turn down a bout, he accepted this fight less than two weeks after his defeat by Jones.

The event is shaping up to be a quality card with an intriguing battle as the headliners between the of the top contenders in the light heavyweight division.
