WBO & IBO WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE BOUT
Sunday 2 June, two of the world’s top boxing champions will battle it out for the WBO & IBO World Heavyweight Titles. Current title holder, Anthony Joshua (22-0) will once again defend his three heavyweight belts against underdog challenger, Andy Ruiz Jr. (32-1).
An English native, Joshua has successfully defended his belts on three different occasions from Dominic Breazeale, Eric Molina and Wladimir Klitschko. Heading into his fourth title defense, Joshua is the hands down odds on favourite, with an impressive reach and dangerous uppercut.
Ruiz has had a successful decade long stint in the pro-rankings, but has proven himself against big players in the top category including Alexander Dimitrenko, Tor Hamer, Joe Hanks, Siarhei Liakhovich, Ray Austin and Kevin Johnson. However Ruiz has only been matched to a genuine threat once, and while it was a solid fight, Ruiz lost the fight to Joseph Parker.
The fight is scheduled to take place in Madison Square Garden, this will be the first time Joshua is to compete on US soil, which punters are expecting to have little impact on the result.
