For the first time in three years, UFC will return to the UK for this heavyweight fight night event. The #5 ranked Alexander Volkov and #10 ranked UK local, Tom Aspinall will headline this event. Volkov is coming off a win after defeating Marcin Tybura in his latest fight, while Aspinall sets his eyes on a fifth consecutive win. Who will take it?
Volkov’s last fight saw him take down Tybura in the third round via unanimous decision. Prior he lost to French contender Ciryl Gane, which broke his back-to-back win streak against Ailstair Overeem and Walt Harris. The veteran is no stranger to big names, having faced the likes of Curtis Blayes and Derrick Lewis. He’ll no doubt use that experience in this next bout.
Can he defeat Aspinall on his home soil?
Opposing Volkov is rising star and top 10 contender, Tom Aspinall. The local is riding on a four fight win streak and looks to make it his fifth in a row, on home turf. To date he’s defeated Sergei Spivac, Andrei Arlovski, Alan Baudot and Jake Collier. His promising record so far, is one to watch since his UFC debut just two years ago.
Can he continue his impressive streak?
Co-headlining will #7 ranked Arnold Allen and #8 ranked Dan Hooker in a must-see heavyweight bout. This will be Hooker’s first fight since returning to the heavyweight division, while Allen looks to dominate and extend his impressive eight fight win streak. Joining the pair, will be #8 ranked Shamil Abdurakhimov and #15 ranked Sergi Pavlovich in an exciting heavyweight bout.
