Two division favourites will clash in this thrilling light heavyweight bout. Brazilian fighters Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker will put it all on the line to get closer to the title shot. Their fight was initially scheduled for September, but was pushed back by UFC after multiple changes in their event calendar.
Santos looks to punch his way back and end his three-streak loss during his most recent fights. He dropped his game to former champion Jon Jones in a nail biting title fight in UFC 239, and lost by submission to Glover Teixeira. This year he was defeated by Aleksander Rakic via unanimous decision.
Despite his losing skid, Santos previously won four straight fights from 2018 - 2019. He took down Jan Blachowicz, Jimi Manuwa, Eryk Anders and Kevin Holland. Currently he also holds a #4 rank in the division, proving he’s still got what it takes to come back.
Can Santos recover from his rough patch and score a win?
Walker on the other hand is coming into the Octagon fresh off a win. He recently defeated Ryan Spann last year by KO/TKO punches. This win against Spann, also broke his previous two-fight losing streak to Nikita Krylov and Corey Anderson.
A fairly new face on the scene, Walker quickly racked up three consecutive first-round knockout finishes since joining UFC in 2018 and has now proved he’s title contender material. Currently he’s ranked #10 in the division and will no doubt look to snatch up another win.
Will Walker take down Santos?
Co-headlining will be #13 ranked Misha Cirkunov and Krzysztof Jotko in a middleweight bout. Both are looking to come back with a vengeance after recent losses in the Octagon.
