A heavyweight Fight Night banger headlined by Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Augusto Sakai is set for this June. Both these top 10 contenders are chasing a win after recent losses during their appearances in the Octagon. Who’s got what it takes to come back?
No.6 contender Rozenstruik looks to fight back after a five-round decision loss to Ciryl Gane just months ago in February. However prior to his upset to Gane, Rozenstruik held an impressive record with four straight wins, including a 29-second finish of former champion Andrei Arlovski and a TKO with four seconds left in the fifth round against former title challenger Alistair Overeem. The heavy hitter currently holds the record for the second-fastest knockout in the heavyweight division against Allen Crowder at UFC Fight Night 154.
Rozenstruik’s only other loss was to current division champion, Francis Ngannou nearly a year ago. He was annihilated by knockout in 20 seconds. No doubt Rozenstruik looks to move up the ranks, but can he defeat Sakai first?
Not far behind is no. 9 contender Sakai. Similar to Rozenstruik, he's looking to bounce back after his recent loss to Alistair Overeem last September. He lost to Overeem via TKO in the fifth round. Despite that, Sakai has already built a solid name for himself in the division after previously holding a five-fight win streak. He beat the likes of Andrei Arlovski, Chase Sherman, Marcin Tybura and Blagoy Ivanov. Can he do it again and defeat Rozenstruik?
To the round out the card, top contenders Walt Harris (#8) and Marcin Tybura (#11) will collide in the heavyweight co-headline. Two middleweight bouts will also be on show and will see Alessio di Chirico and Roman Dolidze, as well as Tom Breese and Antoni Arroyo go head to head.
