This August, top 15 contenders Hall and Strickland will headline in this middleweight bout showdown. The two were scheduled to square off during UFC 265, but will instead fight a week earlier. To date both fighters are riding on four straight wins, and are no doubt looking to move up the ladder and get a piece of the title belt action. Who’s going to take home a fifth straight win?
Currently ranked #8 in the division, Hall has been steadily climbing the ranks with the longest win streak of his UFC career. Three of his latest wins have been knockouts against Chris Weidman, Anderson Silva, and Bevon Lewis. His victory over Antonio Carlos Junior was via split decision.
Notably, his most recent fight to Chris Weidman in UFC 261 saw Hall defeat his opponent in record time — just 17 seconds flat! The brutal blow delivered to Weidman resulted in a broken leg. Impressively, Hall has only seen defeat three times in his UFC career, losing to Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, Kamaru Usman and Santiago Ponzinibbio.
Can he bag another win?
Also on a hot streak is Strickland, who is entering the Octagon for the first time in a headline fight. Ranked #11 in the division, Strickland has recently picked up four straight wins since returning to the Octagon after recovering from a serious motorcycle accident. Two wins were via unanimous decision against Krzysztof Jotko and Jack Marshman, and the remaining two victories were via knockout where he defeated Nordine Taleb and Brendan Allen.
Can Strickland bump up his ranking to #10 and score a fifth straight win?
Other notable co-headline fights include Jinh Yu Frey vs. Ashley Yoder, Doo Ho Choi vs. Danny Chavez, and Rani Yahya vs. Kyung Ho Kang.
