‘The Iron Lady’ is about to have her mettle tested by an undefeated foe.

Officials announced Wednesday that Germaine de Randamie (8-3-0) will fight Aspen Ladd (7-0-0) in the bantamweight main event of UFC Sacramento on July 13. De Randamie has not lost a fight since her defeat at the hands of current champion, Amanda Nunes back in November 2013, though she has only fought sporadically since then.

De Randamie was the inaugural women’s featherweight champion, until she was later stripped of the title when she refused to fight Cris Cyborg. De Randamie is currently No. 1 in the UFC’s official bantamweight contender and will be looking to retain her clean record in the octagon.

Aspen Ladd has taken the UFC scene by storm, a young gun who made her debut against Lina Lansberg on 22 October, 2017. Excitement has been growing around Ladd for a while now, with UFC matchmakers already indicating how highly they think of her, originally linking her to a bout against former champion, Holly Holm.

Ladd will be looking to continue her upwards projection in the competition and the bantamweight division and look to further build her case to take a shot at the title.
