This top 10 featherweight bout will have it all! Edson Barboza and Giga Chikadze will go toe-to-toe as they both continue to chase straight wins after their recent fights in the Octagon. Ranked #9 and #10 respectively, this line up will be a close one who ever takes the win.
This will be Barboza’s third headline fight since making the division switch. He looks to extend his streak after his two previous wins, where he took down Shane Burgos in May during UFC 262 via TKO, and Amirkhani via unanimous decision last October.
A veteran of the sport, Barboza has fought in the UFC since 2010, however was previously in the lightweight division. He made the switch to featherweight division in 2020, and overall holds a 16-9 UFC record.
Will Barboza’s experience get him another win?
Ranked only one spot behind Barboza is Chikadze. The talented fighter has to date been undefeated, bagging six straight wins. He openly campaigned for his next fight after adding to his sweet success, and got his wish when announced that Barboza would be his next target - no doubt, he’s itching to win.
His most recent wins against Club Swanson and Jamey Simmons saw him defeat them via TKO. Chikadze’s other wins have been against Brandon Davis, Jamall Emmers and Omar Morales.
Can Chikadze make this fight his seventh lucky win?
Co-headlining will be #14 ranked Sean Brady, and #11 Kevin Lee in a welterweight bout. To wrap up Fight Night, two middleweight bouts will follow with Alessio Di Chirico and Aliaskhab Khizriev, as well as Makhmud Muradov and Gerald Meerschaert.
