Love him or hate him, Jake Paul has continued to make waves in the boxing world. An internet star, Jake Paul and brother Logan continue to divide the sport and fans around the world, with many asking what they’re doing in the ring against seasoned professionals.

But, whether you think Paul is in it for a joke, he’s back, and this time against tough opponent Tyron Woodley. Paul has three professional fights to his name to date, after defeating former UFC star, Ben Askren, internet personality, AnEsonGib and former NBA player Nate Robinson.

The description of each of those fighters in itself speaks to the controversy around the ‘YouTube kid’ who is claiming to boast a professional record, the calibre of fighters he’s called up aren’t professionals, are definitely aren’t viewed as serious competitors in the world of boxing. So his task against Tyron Woodley may be his toughest to date.

Tyron Woodley is well known for his impressive MMA record, and a long reign as UFC welterweight champion. In terms of his professional boxing fight, Woodley comes into the bout having dropped the last four of his fights, but has promised victory against Paul on Monday.

Not that many expect him to, punters have Paul sitting at odds on favourite, and doesn’t he know it. Speaking directly to his fans from a home training video with brother Logan, Paul didn’t hold back.

“We work too hard, we’re too dedicated, we have the best team. He’s not working like this.

“I look amazing in sparring, coming in hot, feeling great, this guy – once the ten-ounce gloves come on – I’m telling you he’s not going to last.

“I’m about to send him into retirement.”

“This fight is a dream come true, it’s a surreal moment. Going back to Cleveland, Ohio.

“Putting on for my city, I’m going 110 per cent, August 30th, I’m putting Tyron Woodley to sleep, be ready.”
