McGregor. Is. Back.
The Irish superstar is set to return to the UFC on Sunday 19 January, against Donald Cerrone to headline UFC 246.
The ‘Notorious’ hasn’t fought since October 2018, when he was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov in the fourth round, which then led to anarchy and substantial fines and bans for both McGregor and Khabib.
Prior to this, McGregor has 21 professionals wins and four losses in MMA, with only one single defeat to Floyd Mayweather on his professional boxing record. The 31-year-old previously fought against Nate Diaz, losing the first fight in second-round submissions, but winning an epic rematch on points.
Donald Cerrone is on a losing streak, losing two of his previous bouts. Most recently, in September, he was stopped by Justin Gaethje in round one.
The Cowboy is a popular contender, known for producing solid action fights against whomever Dana White and the UFC decided to pit him against, but considering the two fights Cerrone has lost, many are interested in the decision for McGregor to start his redemption tour here, rather than the expected rematch with Khabib.
What will happen? Can McGregor grab a much-needed win and get back into competing against and with the most elite fighters in the sport? Or can the affable and accomplished Cerrone shock the world by pulling off a life-changing upset in the biggest fight of his career? Watch here, live and free at your local.
