This top 10 contender match will headline Alexander Volkov (#5) and Jairzinho Rozenstruik (#8) in what will be a show stopping heavyweight bout. Both fighters look to bounce back, and regain momentum after their recent losses. Who will add another win to their scorecard?
Volkov’s last fight saw him get defeated by rising contender, Tom Aspinall on his home turf via submission. Prior, the Russian native has seen alternating wins and losses— he took down Tybura in the third round via unanimous decision, but lost to French contender Ciryl Gane. This loss cost him his back-to-back win streak against Ailstair Overeem and Walt Harris. The veteran is no stranger to big names, having faced the likes of Curtis Blayes and Derrick Lewis.
Can he defeat Rozenstruik and get back in the win column?
Meanwhile Rozenstruik hopes to finally fight again, and pick up a win. This is the third time Rozenstruik has been booked to compete in 2022, but he’s been unable to step in the octagon. His last two scheduled fights fell through, will the third time be a charm?
Rozenstruik is coming off a decision loss to Curtis Blaydes in September. Like Volkov, he’s had alternating wins and losses during his last fights (2-2). He’s picked up wins against Augusto Sakai and Junior Dos Santos, but on the flip has lost to Curtis Blaydes and Ciryl Gane.
Will this fight get him back on track for his 2022 campaign?
