Alistair Overeem and Alexander Volkov will put it all on the line to get closer to the title belt. Both ranked #5 and #6 respectively, each holds a solid track record and will look to build that further.
Overeem “The Demolition Man” has certainly demolished his latest opponents clean. He’s recently picked up back-to-back TKO wins over Augusto Sakai and Walt Harris. His previous fights with Aleksei Oleinik and Sergei Pavlovich were also notable TKOs.
Currently holding a 4 - 1 record, this could be one of his last fights, as he hinted at retirement on Twitter.
“I’m still on a learning curve. But I have to be realistic. I’m going to have a couple more fights, then I’m going to hang up the gloves. If I win the belt, then the mission is completed #onefinalrun.”
Will Overeem complete his mission?
Volkov will look to stop “The Demolition Man”. He currently holds strong with two wins of his last four appearances in the Octagon. The no. #6 contender defeated Greg Hardy and Walt Harris. Prior, he was on a four win streak, which was broken when he lost to Derrick Lewis by KO/TKO in the third round.
