This November, Silva (“The Spider”) and Hall will face off in this Middleweight match up for what could be Silva’s last time in the Octagon.
“I met with his managers the other day, this will be his last fight,” Dana White told reporters. “I think he’s going to retire.” Former title champion, Silva will no doubt look to round out his UFC career with a final victory. His last six of seven fights have seen him collect losses, which has been a major blow. The Spider’s last win was a unanimous decision over Derek Brunson at UFC 208 in February 2017. He also bagged victory over Israel Adesanya, with a similar result by unanimous decision.
His stellar career has been a successful one, seeing him hold the longest title reign in UFC history at 2,457 days. This started in 2006 and ended in 2013, where he also held an incredible streak of 16 consecutive victories during his reign.
But also keen for victory is Hall, who’s been riding on a two-win streak after his most recent win a split decision over Antonio Carlos Junior in September 2019. Prior to that he defeated Bevon Lewis at UFC 232 by TKO. The top 10 contender is currently ranked 9th, and has his sights set on getting closer to the championship title.
Co-headlining will be Adrian Yanez and Aaron Phillips in the Bantamweight division, as well as Amir Albazi and Zhalgas Zhumagulov in the Flyweight bout. Yanez will make his UFC debut, after a strong 4-0 streak from competing on Dana White’s Contender Series.
