Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury will square off for the second time at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The highly anticipated rematch will follow their previous bout in 2018 which saw a controversial split draw, leaving both fighters with to this day, undefeated records.
This time around, fans are hoping for redemption in seeing a clear victor emerge at the end of the twelve rounds. Both fighters are looking to walk away with their undefeated record intact, and both are expecting the result to go their way.
Standing at an imposing 6 foot 7 inches in height, Wilder is a knockout artist, boasting a 42-0-1 record that includes 41 wins by knockout, the likes of which haven’t been seen before. His most recent victory came over Luis Ortiz in November last year, finishing him in the tenth round.
In the opposite corner, British man-mountain Tyson Fury’s height is an even more intimidating 6 foot 9 inches. The Manchester fan favourite will fly out to vegas with a 29-0-1 record, featuring 20 wins to date by knockout. His most famous victory came from defeating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 to take the title of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
This will be a fight for the ages, with the current reigning WBC champion and the current undefeated lineal champion going head to head for the vacant Heavyweight WBC title.
“It takes a certain type of man to risk his life and not just his life,” Fury said.
“I mean to risk everything he’s ever achieved to his life. To put it all on the line, draw a mark and say, right, let’s have the two best men fight each other for the ultimate glory. That’s what I and Wilder are doing.”
