UFC fans in Calgary are in for a treat as an anticipated rematch between former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and popular contender Dustin Poirier will take place July 27 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Alvarez and Poirier are currently the third- and fourth-ranked contenders, respectively, in the UFC’s 155-pound division. The pair fought to a no-contest at UFC 211 in May 2017 after Alvarez landed an illegal knee on Poirier and the fight was halted. Before the bout stopped it was on its way to being a fight of the year contender.
